After years of working in Valsad and Surat, Trrayaam Foundation has expanded to Silvassa with our most comprehensive waste management initiative yet. Launched in partnership with the Silvassa Municipal Council, this project aims to bring systematic waste segregation and processing to the entire city.
Project Scope
- Door-to-door waste collection covering 15,000+ households
- Source-level segregation training for residents
- Two material recovery facilities for processing recyclables
- Composting units for organic waste
- Community waste warriors program for local youth
Why Silvassa?
Silvassa, in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, has seen rapid industrial growth but waste management infrastructure hasn't kept pace. Our experience from the B.E.A.T.S program in 2021 showed us the potential here, and now we're returning with a full-scale implementation.
First Month Results
In just the first month, we've already collected and processed 5,000 kg of segregated waste, diverted 3,200 kg from landfills, and enrolled 2,500 households in the segregation program.
Stay tuned for monthly updates as we scale this initiative across the city!
